Your liver is one of the most important organs in your body — it helps digest food, clean your blood, and store energy. What you eat every day has a big effect on how well your liver works. A Liver Health Diet Consultation is a visit where a doctor helps you understand which foods support your liver and which ones can cause harm.

When you come for a Liver Health Diet Consultation, the doctor will ask you about what you eat, how much alcohol you drink, and any symptoms you have been experiencing. They may gently press on your belly to check your liver, and they may ask for a blood test or a scan to see how well your liver is working. Foods that are high in sugar, salt, and fat can harm your liver over time. Fried foods, processed snacks, sugary drinks like sodas, and too much red meat put extra stress on the liver. Eating these regularly can cause fat to build up in the liver, which leads to liver disease.
Drinking alcohol regularly is one of the biggest causes of liver damage, even in small amounts over a long time. Palm oil in large amounts can also contribute to fat buildup in the liver, especially if your diet is already high in fat. It is best to use palm oil in moderation and avoid alcohol as much as possible to protect your liver.
Eating plenty of vegetables, fruits, whole grains like brown rice and oats, and legumes like beans and lentils is very good for your liver. Drinking enough water every day also helps your liver flush out waste. Try to reduce fried and fatty foods and replace them with boiled, steamed, or grilled options.
In early stages, changing your diet can make a big difference and even reverse some liver damage, especially if it is caused by fatty foods or alcohol. However, more serious liver conditions usually need medical treatment alongside a healthy diet. It is important to see a doctor so they can check how serious the problem is and give you the right treatment.
Common signs that your liver may not be working well include yellowing of the eyes or skin, pain or swelling on the right side of your belly, feeling very tired all the time, and dark-coloured urine. Some people have liver problems without any symptoms at first, which is why regular check-ups are important. If you notice any of these signs, please see a doctor as soon as possible.
